Privacy policy

Bobz is an app for your dog's walks: walks, photo of the day, health record, dog friendly places and the dogs you meet. This page explains what data Bobz uses, why, and your rights. Contact: contact@bobz-app.fr.
Who is responsible
Bobz is published by Sercan Yildiz, who is responsible for the processing of your data. Contact: contact@bobz-app.fr.
What we collect
- Your account: email address and password (stored encrypted, never readable).
- Your profile: first name, and only if you add them: last name, birth date, city, bio, photo.
- Your dogs: name, breed, age, sex, description, photos, photos of the day, and the humans who share them with you.
- Health record: care, reminders and weight. Private: only you and the other humans of the dog can see it.
- Walks: duration, distance, steps and route. Only you can see them.
- Position during a walk: only while a walk you started is in progress, about every 5 minutes, to detect the dogs you meet. These positions are never shown to anyone and are deleted after 24 hours at most. For a crossing, the other person only sees an approximate place (about 100 m), a street name and the time. You can become invisible at any time in the settings: you then cross nobody.
- Messages with the humans of the dogs you met, reports and blocked users.
- Places: your favourites and the places you suggest.
The step count (motion sensor) stays on your phone. Bobz has no advertising, no tracking, no analytics, and never sells or shares your data for marketing.
What others can see
People who crossed your dog see its photo, name, age and breed, and your first name. If the profile is public, or for your friends, they also see its description, personality and gallery, and its photos of the day if you share your journal. Nobody ever sees your email, your positions, your walks or your dog's health record.
Why (legal basis)
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract): account, dogs, walks, journal, messages.
- Your consent for location: given through iOS permission, withdrawable at any time (iOS settings, or invisible mode in Bobz).
- Our legitimate interest for safety: reports, blocking, abuse prevention.
Where the data is stored
The Bobz server runs at Render (Frankfurt, Germany). The database, accounts and photos are hosted by Supabase (London, United Kingdom, a country recognised by the European Union as offering an adequate level of protection). Connections are encrypted (HTTPS) and photos are only shown to people allowed to see them.
How long
As long as your account exists. Walk positions: 24 hours at most. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete my account), all your data is deleted, except the dogs you share with other humans, which stay with them.
Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your data directly in the app, and delete your account at any time. For any other request (copy of your data, objection, question), write to contact@bobz-app.fr. You can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
Age
Bobz is intended for people aged 15 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes significantly, we will let you know in the app.
